It's a nice, warm day. Charo is enjoying his walk and sees Candy.

I can go up to Chris's room when Aunt Charlotte is with me, but she's busy, so I always wait for him outside. Oh, Aunt Charlotte is Chris's aunt. I'm staying with her while Chris is in the hospital.

But in fact, Candy is crying.

I'm lonely. I know I shouldn't be complaining. But Aunt Charlotte wants me to enter a dog show this weekend. And then, next week she's going to Chicago and I'm supposed to go with her. Everything is moving so quickly, and I can barely keep up.

Talking with Charo makes Candy feel much better.

Candy remembers the story she made up and this almost makes her cry again.

The two get to the backyard of the hospital.

But Chris has just gone inside, being pushed back to his room.
しかしグリスは建物の中に入ったところ病室に連れ戻されていきます
Arf arf! Chris! I'm here! I came to see you! Come back! Arf arf!
クリス！ ここよ！会いに来たのよ！ 戻って！
Two of the guards are approaching. Charo catches Candy by the tail and tugs.
２人の警備員が近づいてきます。チャロはキャンディのしつぽをくわえぐいつと引つ張ります
Hey! What are you doing!?
いやだ！ 何するの!?
They're coming! Let's go!
ほらあの人たち！ 行こ！
Charo leads Candy out to the alley. Candy keeps crying all the way.
チャロはキャンディを路地まで連れ出しました。キャンディはその間泣きっぱなしです
I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you cry, but...
ごめん 泣かせるつもりはなかつたんだけど…
I know! We had to leave anyway. But I just wanted to be with Chris. I just...

Finally she calms down.
キャンディはようやく落ち着きを取り戻しました。

I really don't want to go... but if a friend could join me, it wouldn't be that bad.

The sound of the word "friend" echoes in his heart. It leaves him warm inside for a very long time.
