You came shopping for Rosa again.
今日もローザのお使いかい。
Good dog, good dog.
いい子だ、いい子だ。

ワン。
(Margherita マルゲリータ)He's John. He's one of my best friends.
彼はジョンよ。親友の一人なの。
But the day I met him, wow, he seemed so mean!

よし、了解。
John picks up one thing after another, comes back and puts them into Margherita's basket.
ジョンは次から次へと品物をそろえて戻り、マルゲリータのバスケットに入れていきます。

John opens the door and the two dogs are out on the streets again.
ジョンがドアを開けると、2匹はまた街へ繰り出しました。
Charo looks back and sees John still waving at them.
チャロが振り返るとジョンはまだ手を振っていました。
(Charo チャロ)How did you become friends?
いったいどうやって友達になったの？
(Margherita マルゲリータ)Well, it's a long story.
そうね、話せば長くなるけど・・・。
You see, Rosa once caught a terrible cold.
じつはね、ある日ローザがひどい風邪をひいたのよ。
She was running a high fever but we had to keep the restaurant open.
高熱があったけど、レストランを閉めるわけにはいかなかった。
She checked the stock of food and there were several things missing.
ローザが買い置きの食材をチェックしたら、いくつか足りないものがあったの。
So, I took off to the store with Rosa's small note in my basket.
それで、ローザのメモが入ったバスケットを提げて、あたしがあの店に行ったの。
It was pouring outside.
外はどしゃ降りだった。
At first, John just kicked me out into the rain.
なのにジョンは、最初、あたしを雨の中へ放り出したのよ。

I waited and waited, until finally John came out, noticed my basket and the note, and apologized.

Charo sees the cute little dog held in the arms of a slender boy.
