Night time in Chinatown, Charo had met a beautiful cat.
"Meow. This isn't place for a little pup like you to be walking around and alone. What are you doing here?"
"あの... do you know a cat named Louisa?"
Hearing the name, the cat came closer and stared at him.
"Who are you?"
"I'm Charo. I was told to go to Chinatown and look for her. My New York friend, Margherita, told me to."
"Margherita?"
"Do you know her? Are you ... Louisa?"
"Too bad. Nobody knows who Louisa is. She's like a moonless night. Very mysterious. But if I ever find out anything about her, I'll let you know. Where are you staying?"
"Mr. Spencer's place."
"Meow. At the Spencers ... hmm."
The mysterious cat looked at Charo.
"And let me ask you. Why do you want to see Louisa?"
"Margherita said Louisa could help me. I'm from Japan and I got lost in New
York. I want to go back."
"I see. Well, as I've said this Louisa, she's a strange one. Until recently she was nobody, then suddenly, she's at the top."
"Do you know her owner?"
"In a way, I hear that she's a writer. She creates. We love that in cat world."
"Thank you. I will keep looking for Louisa and her owner."
"Good luck. And... I'll tell you what. If you ever see a yellow truck, hop onto it. You won't regret it."
With that, the beautiful cat disappeared into the deep black darkness.
"A yellow ... truck?"
Charo had no idea what it meant.
He kept on walking.
He met several other cats but none of them seem to know much about Louisa.
It was getting late.
Charo was so tired.
He began to regret having left the Spencers' all by himself.
He knew that their estate was too far away to walk back to.
"どうしよう..."
Meanwhile, those at the Spencer estate had realised that Charo was gone.
Sir Joseph himself formed a search group and led them to find his missing guest.
Candy seemed very worried.
"What a nuisance. Once a stray, always a stray."
"Don't say that, Frank! Charo is my friend."
"Then, you should be more careful in choosing your friends, my dear.
You would be taken as the same kind."
"How can you say that? You don't even know him. His heart is as pure as gold. I'm honored to be taken as his same kind."
Even Candy was surprised at her own words.
Without her noticing, Charo had become a dear and precious friend.
It was well past midnight.
The yellow truck had just entered the estate and was moving toward the mansion.
Charo was so surprised to see that he was back again.
"あのネコの言ったとおりだ。"
Charo jumped off the truck and was quietly walking to the mansion when he saw a grand white figure approaching.
"あっ、Sir Joseph."
"Charo. It's good to see you back. Now come over here. It seems we need to talk."
Charo walked closer to him.
"I hope you are aware of what you have done to us."
His voice was calm and quiet but was very powerful.
It echoed through the midnight air.
